Chulucana pitcher is 5 1/2" tall, 17" around at widest point with Nazca designs. A collection of several different figures, including Bird, Lizard, Dog and Spider. The Chulucana technique of pottery making can be traced back to the pottery pre-dating the Incan civilization into the influence of Spanish rule in the 17th century, and this style is found no place else in the world. Each artist uses the finest clays, minerals and materials found in this desert area of Peru. This piece is signed by the artist, "Julio Flores" Chulucanas. #2/1. Handmade in Peru.
